Continuing Shell & Core
Work continues on the Shell & Core structural work. Archibald Timber Structures has been installing a large amount of framing hardware in the roof to make the building much safer to work in. This has not gone without a hitch though, as we have discovered quite a few discrepancies between the original roof design and what was actually installed by the original builder. This has required quite a bit of modifications to our structural design to make everything fit properly. In addition, much of the footing work has been progressing.

Beginning of Shell and Core Work
Another quick update on what's going on at the new Bernards Headquarters. Contracts went out to the Shell and Core Subcontractors which will be KAR Construction for Concrete and two Subs who are new to Bernards. Archibald Timber Structures will handle the panelized roofing and Richwell Steel will have the structural/misc. steel. We continue the demolition removing the upper mezzanine storefront, some site structures and trees and some additional interior elements. The office mock-up is complete and Archibald has begun work on the seismic roof upgrades.

Soft Demo Nearly Complete
The soft demolition is nearly completed. The size of the new space is really visible now and it is huge! They have a couple more days left to complete the work which will include the removal of the HVAC units on the roof. There is also a mock-up being built of a typical office which will be completed next week. Bids were due yesterday for the Steel, Roof Framing, Concrete, Fire Sprinklers and more Demo. Contracts will go out next week. Here are some of the latest shots.

Welcome to your future home, The Bernards Headquarters!
We have taken Ownership of the new building and started some exploritory demolition to verify the structural conditions. Additionally, we have removed the ceiling tiles to get a better look at the roof structure and utilities. These are some of the first photographs.
